Reiki – Live in the Energy of the Precepts
The Reiki Precepts are the basic wise principles of this beautiful spiritual modality. They serve as powerful guidance as to how to live our Reiki- filled journeys in a place of inner peace and compassion.
There are so many different versions of the Precepts, and Teachers and Practitioners have adapted varied versions, as well as changing some slightly in ways to resonate more with their own individual ways of thinking and understanding.
==========
This is the simple version that I learned many years ago:
For today only:
Do not anger.
Do not worry.
Be humble.
Be honest in your work.
Be compassionate to yourself and others.
==========
And Mikao Usui actually prefaced the precepts with this thought:
“The secret of inviting happiness through many blessings
The spiritual medicine for all illness”…
==========
Despite the variations, ALL versions espouse the feelings and attitudes of gratitude, compassion, self-kindness, releasing anger and worry, having humility, remaining non-judgmental, being honest. For it is in the practice of being in the flow of these radiant, peaceful, harmonious emotions, we live our best lives and are the most effective Reiki Practitioners and clear conduits for this healing energy.
And in this energy, one feels GOOD, HAPPY, SERENE!
These principles are a wise basis for anyone to live by, but Mikao Usui likely created these to help Practitioners stay in the space of radiant harmony and be the most spiritual and “higher-consciousness” version of who they desire to be… thus being able to access and connect to this uplifting healing energy.
If you are a Practitioner, remember to recite the Precepts daily — and live in their enlightened energy all day long!
